About Me
Profile:
I am an aspiring Journalist who has a strong passion for sports and I always try to implement them into my past work and projects as they are my hobbies. Sports I love that I would like to report on are Wrestling, Motor racing and NFL. I have alot of valuable knowledge on these sports as they are my hobbies and they have always been apart of my life. Having a career in something that gives me the ability to have an aspect of all these sports made me choose sports journalism and I love watching professionals do their work in other forms of media such WTF 1 for formula 1, Dave Meltzer who reports for wrestling observer and NBC’s Pro football talk. Ive always liked the aspect of possibly working abroad in the United States as although as of now I only Follow NFL, I take a liking to their sports culture more, and would love to cover all of their sports such as hockey basketball baseball and NASCAR. That is another goal I have as a sports journalsit that drives me to be sucessful.
Work experience history:
I have had past work with a variety of clients as I am apart of a student production company, I have worked for a company called Unlocked performance to help record an interview with former Aston Villa player Tony Morley. I worked as a sound engineer during this job and it was my responsibilty to control everything to do with sound and make sure that auio levels were fine.
I have also created a podcast episode for a OFCOM regulated radio station called SWITCH. For this I made a show on inspiration in sport where We talked about notable sports stars from our local area of Birmingham.
Inspirations:
My inspirations in the Journalism industry are Dave Meltzer and Neil Reynolds. Dave Meltzer is highly regarded in the wrestling sector even by wrestlers themselves he is very knowledgable on the business from a business side of it and has sources inside of major companies who he can trust which allows him to provide us with information on whats happening behind the scenes and the logic behind it. He also has a star rating which he uses to rate wrestling matches 0-5 but on multiple cases he has gone over that star limit with him rating a match in 2018 in Japan 7 stars. What sets Meltzer apart from other journalists is that he not only has very valuable knowledge but can provide entertainment through his star rating system and for many, that is what sets him apart from other journalists and you could even say that his star ratings are a number one selling point to following him as a reporter.

My other inspiration is Neil Reynolds who is the host for NFL games that are shown on SKY here in the UK. As I stated in my profile, I love the culture around Americans and their sports and Neil Reynolds is somebody who is able to cover a sport like the NFL on a high level in the UK by working for SKY sports. This is something That I would love to do as a sports journalist, be able to travel to different countries, motor racing covers this as well with races in a series happening all over a country or all over the world in the acse of series like Formula 1 or over a country like NASCAR. Neil Reynolds is someone who does that from his home country in the UK for their biggest sports provider and He is somebody that inspires me as well as Meltzer to do sports journalism and they are examples of people who have been able to do what they love in different ways but both have so what made it to say the least.
I hope that you have enjoyed learning about me and my ambitions and I hope that it shows through the work I have produced on this blog 🙂
