Pre- Production

Treatment:

For my chosen brief, Facebook Workplace, I am going to make a video advert that promotes Workplace by Facebook. I am going to create a drama based advert that promotes Workplace. My overall plan for my advert is that I want a person to be on their phone watching youtube and then an advert will pop up on their phone. Then on their phone will be the advert that we will make and the person will be reacting positively to the advert and will want to download the Workplace app.

Potential risks:

loose wires on floor, Lighting rigs on ceiling, Step ladders

How to remove/reduce the risk:

Lighting rigs- Be careful when moving them as they could fall off of the hinges on the ceiling.

Loose wires- Tape loose wires to the floor and be wary of where they are.

Step Ladder- You can fall off of it when tampering with overhead lights. The only way to reduce this risk is to make sure the ladder is stable and take care in climbing the ladder.

 

Shot List:

Shot 1: Long shot of sofa and Kai will walk in and sit down on the sofa.

Shot 2: Over the shoulder shot facing downwards at kai’s phone in hand.

Shot 3: Mid/Long shot of Me and Luke on a sofa talking into the camera about Facebook Workplace.

Shot 4: Cutback to Kai on his phone reacting to what we just said.

Shot 5: Cutback to us talking about the Workplace again.

Shot 6: Cutback to Kai who then walks off screen

Shot 7: Fade away to text on screen with details about Facebook Workplace.

 

Storyboard:

I chose to use a storyboard whilst in the pre-production stage of my advert because it would allow me to get a basis for how I want my advert to flow in terms of what is happening on the screen. Storyboards are a great way to stay organised when filming so you don’t miss any key things. My storyboard consists of drawings of what is happening in the frames and a description of what is happening in each frame such as camera angles, movements and sound.
