Audience research

My Audience Research for my journalism piece

Age

The age demographic for my journalistic piece for the effects that social media has on Formula 1, will be aimed at people in their young 20’s and late teenage years, as younger people tend to use social media the most. I believe it is appropriate for my target audience to be of a younger audience as my piece will appeal to them more as they will understand what I will be talking about and it would relate with them.

Gender

The target audience gender for my journalism piece will aimed towards male’s as they are stereotyped to like sport and cars, but my piece will be written to appear universal in terms of gender.

Geo demographics

The geo demographics for my journalistic piece will be aimed at people that live in the UK as my report will talk about the effects that social media has on Formula 1 in the UK, so people that live outside of the UKwould not be interested as it would have nothing to do with anything outside of the UK.

Teenagers will fall under the E category as they will be students. People that will be in there 20’s will fall anywhere from University students falling underE class as they are students and young workers falling into the D category

Psychographics/lifestyle groupings:

The people that my journalism piece is aimed at will fall into either the explorer category or the mainstreamer category. Explorer’s consist of younger people, typically students.
