What did you intend to do? What process did you adopt to achieve this?

For our final video that was for the Facebook Workplace brief, we intended to make a drama based advert. To achieve this goal that we had set, we needed to come up with a narrative. Our narrative was that Kai would be watching a youtube video on his phone and then an advert would pop up on his phone and then he would be watching an advert that was filmed by me and Luke about Facebook Workplace, Kai would find this advert interesting and would go out of his way to download Facebook Workplace.

Was the final product as good as you expected? Did it meet your initial objective?

Our final product did achieve our initial objective but we had a problem when filming as we our footage that we originally filmed was very grainy and was of a low visual quality so we had to schedule another filming day to re film our footage.

What did you learn on your journey?

On my journey for this project, I learned how to setup a camera and tripod and how I can effectively operate the camera to capture footage. I also learned how to make the use of lighting in the TV studio.

What went well?

Our use of lighting in the TV studio was something that was good as we made the use out of the lighting panels on the ceiling to make the lighting look better in our film. Our research was a another thing that was done well as we had both surveys and vox pox interviews for our primary research and for our secondary research we used websites and statistics.

What could have been improved?

We need to improve our planning skills so that we can be sure of exactly what we are filming on the day. Also we need to film way more footage so that we can have a variety of shots available to choose during the editing stage, this is important because we don’t want to make things harder for us during the editing stage when we have a lack of footage available to use.

What targets will you set for your FMP to ensure you achieve the grade?

For my FMP I want to nail down my quality of planning, I want to make the most of the use of storyboards and shot lists so I can be fully prepared for when I begin production. I also need to make better use of my filming time as I need to use equipment correctly and effectively so that I can get the best quality of clips so that I can make the best final product possible and also this will provide me with a variety of useful clips ready for editing. The editing was probably the strongest part that we were good at so we need to keep this quality up by supporting the editing with good quality clips so that I can make the best edited version of my film.
